Homelessness 201: Get to Know the Office of the Ombudsman for Long-Term Care on ZOOM

Course Description:

The Office of Ombudsman for Long-Term Care(OOLTC) is a free advocacy service for adults in Minnesota who receive long-term care services and supports.  This training will discuss the services offered by the OOLTC.  The training will also provide an overview of housing laws in nursing homes and assisted livings.  Particular focus will be on rules related to admissions and discharges/evictions.  Residents’ rights to quality care and quality services as well as reasonable accommodations for disabilities will be discussed.

Presenter Bio: Genevieve Gaboriault  has been Deputy Ombudsman in the Office of Ombudsman for Long-Term Care for two years.  She holds a law degree from William Mitchell.  Ms. Gaboriault practiced housing law and elder law at Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid for 13 years before joining the Ombudsman’s office.

How to register:  This training has been subsidized by a generous grant from Open Your Heart.  You may register more than 1 person at a time and note the names in the space provided.  I will send out the Zoom link to participants the day prior to the training.
