“Office Hours” with Lawyer Mike: Tenant Rights During COVID-19
November 19, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
There is an eviction moratorium—so why are so many people still losing their housing?
Are your staff up to speed with tenant rights and legal solutions to prevent evictions and homelessness for your clients?
Lawyer Mike is here to help!
Mike Vraa from HOMELine will provide open Office Hours to answer questions and equip you with important/current information.
COVID-19 has affected virtually every part of our lives, including the law. Rules have changed since March drastically and usually without any notice. Mike will be on hand to answer questions on COVID-19 related landlord/tenant issues or any other landlord/tenant legal questions. While Mike is based in the metro, he is versed in MN state law, so this opportunity is beneficial for anyone working in the state.
What’s up with Office Hours?
We’re trying something new at MESH. While our standard 2 hour trainings are a meaningful way to give you information & help you grow in your role, we know this format doesn’t always work for everyone—some don’t have two hours to dedicate to a training, some want to go deeper than a typical training, some need brief 1:1 coaching/guidance.
Office Hours are meant to provide you with more immediate access to MESH trainers—less structure and lecture, more of a conversation with an expert. There is no cost for Office Hours at this time. You are invited to come for the whole hour & hear your peers’ questions being answered, or you can pop in for a time to ask a specific question which we will do our best to have time to answer.
To help Mike prepare for this event and our Office Hour approach, we are seeking specific questions, areas of interest/concern, scenarios, etc in advance of the event. All questions & scenarios will be anonymous. Please include on your registration (questions? contact Michele at firstname.lastname@example.org.)
Presenter Bio: Mike Vraa is HOME Line’s Managing Attorney and has practiced in landlord/tenant law since 1996. He’s given over 1,200 speeches on the topic to over 37,000 audience members around MN. How to register: There is no cost for this opportunity but you must register. You may register more than 1 person at a time and note the names in the space provided. I will send out the Zoom link to participants the day prior to the training.
