Creating Trauma Informed Organizations Using the Sanctuary Model

May 6, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

There is a cost for this training.
CEUs offered: 3

NOTE: This training is designed especially for supervisors, managers and administrators; however, anyone working within a human service organization serving individuals who have experienced trauma will benefit from this training.

Course Description:

This workshop will introduce the Sanctuary Model, a blueprint for clinical and organizational change which, at its core, promotes safety and recovery from adversity through the active creation of a trauma-informed community. As an organizational culture intervention, it is designed to facilitate the development of structures, processes, and behaviors on the part of staff and clients that can counteract the biological, affective, cognitive, social, and existential wounds suffered by the victims of traumatic experience. At this workshop you will learn about the seven sanctuary commitments, the four key interactive aspects of recovery from trauma (S.E.L.F.), and the process for introducing this model within your agency.
