Course Description:

Historical Trauma refers to the cumulative emotional harm of an individual or generation caused by a traumatic experience or event. Historical trauma, and its manifestations, are seen as an example of generational trauma. Trauma Informed Care is an organizational structure and treatment framework that involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma. This highly interactive, experiential workshop will improve participants ability to understand and work with the community. Trauma Informed Care Training also improves health and wellness and the working environment for program participants, staff, and management.

  • Gain a Basic Understanding of Historical Trauma
  • Learn how they affect us, our work and the people we serve
  • Learn what we can do to improve our setting and help the communities we serve
