There is a cost for this training.
CEUs offered: 3

Course Description:

The first of a series of four workshops introducing you to Motivational Interviewing, Step One starts us out using the skill of Engagement. Here you will learn the essential qualities of a collaborative partnership established with our human capacity for compassion and acceptance. Using the transtheoretical model of change we will explore the nature of change, why we resist it, and what we as practitioners can do to inspire it. Our practice will include deep listening with non-anxious presence, creating a safe relational container for our clients, and letting go of our inclination to “fix” other people.  This is Part 1 of a 4 Part Series.
