Intro to Housing First on ZOOM

April 13, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

There is a cost for this training.
CEUs offered: 1.5

Housing First is part of our 101 series of best practices.  It typically is offered with 5 other topics (History of Homelessness | Client Engagement | Boundaries & Ethics | Exploring Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging | Harm Reduction | Trauma Informed Care).  Brian is a new trainer for MESH and will be training on Housing First for future 101 series, but we’re excited to offer his content now as a standalone.

Course Description:  What does Housing First mean and why is it important to understand?  In this training we will review the definition, history and importance of Housing First.  We’ll explore what this practice means to participants, how we currently use Housing First in our work as well as housing options and how this connects to Coordinated Entry so you can best advocate for those you serve.

Presenter Bio: Brian K. Bozeman is the founder of Person Centered Housing Consultants, which has been serving unhoused or displaced individuals for nearly 20 years. Brian has extensive experience in emergency shelter services, housing navigation and support services, rapid rehousing, outreach, coordinated entry assessments, and staff management and leadership.  He has worked with partners including Ramsey County, the City of St. Paul, Simpson Housing Services, Hennepin County Shelter Efficiency, and Coordinated Entry in the Metro Area.
