Course Description:

You’ve probably heard of General Assistance (GA), Minnesota’s cash program for adults who are unable to work, and Minnesota Supplemental Aid (MSA), which gives extra income to people on SSI. But there’s more to these programs than you might think! Come learn how GA and MSA work, and pick up some tips that can help you successfully connect your clients with these helpful resources.

Presenter Bio:

John Petroskas is a policy specialist at the MN Department of Human Services.  He has worked in housing and homelessness for the last 16 years. John helped start the Housing First program at Catholic Charities, then managed supportive services at Higher Ground, an innovative shelter and housing program for adults with long histories of homelessness. He has also worked at MESH, the Wilder Foundation, and HUD.

How to register:  Registration below is broken into Member & Non-Member.  If you are unsure whether you are part of a member organization or would like more information about membership, please contact Michele.  If you choose to pay by credit card, you will be walked through payment process and receive an automated email confirming your payment and registration.  If you choose to pay by check, you will receive an invoice from MESH.  Payment is expected prior to training date.  Please contact Michele if scholarship help is needed.  You may register more than 1 person at a time and note the names in the space provided.  I will send out the Zoom link to participants the day prior to the training.
