Caring for Self in Order to Care for Others

June 5, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

There is a cost for this training.
CEUs offered: 2

Course Description:

In this line of work, we are required to wear several hats.  I believe in the importance of taking time to become aware of how this impacts us mentally, physically and spiritually, so I’m encouraging you to come out and have a conversation about how we can stay healthy in the areas that impact us the most.  Understanding the seasons of life is not only helpful but necessary for the long haul.  In this discussion, we will talk about how this field impacts us in these various areas and how we can honor who we are becoming aware of what we may need and accepting it doesn’t look the same for everyone.

Presented by:

“I’ve stayed curious about life possibilities, about how sitting with others holding space with them helps create space for healing to occur”. For the past 16 years I worked with Emma’s Place as a Youth Program Coordinator (3 years), Simpson Housing as a Youth Advocate, Family Advocate, Single Adults with mental health diagnosis (10+ years) and I’m currently at Lutheran Social Services as a Case Manager for the Anoka Supportive Housing programs working with singles and families who’ve been diagnosed with mental health.  In 2012 I became interested in how the body can relax into a place of healing.  I became certified in Restorative Yoga in 2017.  I continue to be curious about the healing of our bodies through various modalities and became certified in Energy Medicine, Thai Yoga Bodyworks Level 1 & 2 and Reiki level’s 1 & 2.  I went to Thailand to study at Omsala School in Chi Nei Tsang which is an abdominal massage.  I am currently a student at CenterPoint Massage & Shiatsu Therapy School & Clinic in the East West program.
