Racial Equity & Resilience

Course Description:

In this highly interactive workshop we will discuss how race & racism impacts all of our lives. Malissa brings research, case studies, humor and personal experience to create a brave space to explore this powerful and controversial topic. This anti-racism training focuses on how structural racism is developed and how to dismantle it. Malissa Adams will review the history of racism in the U.S., explore the concepts of internalized racism and privilege, and examine how agency based and society-wide institutional arrangements implicitly or explicitly foster racism. Stanton Adams Consulting encourages participants to apply the knowledge they gain to pursue racial equity in their workplace, school or community. Participants learn that they are institutional ‘‘gatekeepers’’ who can affect organizations either by acting to maintain or helping to undo racism.

Presenter Bio:
